In the frame of Healthier Kosovo project, representatives of relevant sectors (environment, health, population statistics, civil society, local government) from Kosovo are conducting a field visit in Lithuania. The visit is organized by World Health Organization (WHO) office in Pristina and WHO Lithuania. The purpose of the visit is to see how Lithuania is implementing its National Air Pollution Reduction Plan, and to see in practice how relevant institution cooperate with one another when it comes to air quality and associated health impacts.
In the first day, the delegation visited the Ministry of Environment and the National Public Health Surveillance Laboratory. In the next few days, the Kosovo representatives will also visit National Public Health Centre and the Environmental Protection Agency.
This learning and sharing of experiences study visit will enable the participating sectors from Kosovo to cooperate more closely with one another in order to have a more complete and sustainable system to monitor air quality and conduct health impact assessment related to air pollution.
