SDG Principles Made by Youth
During the UN Youth Assembly 2019, held in Prishtina, Kosovo on April 24th, IPKO Foundation facilitated a workshop on Sustainable Development Goals principles with the sole goal of giving the young participants a platform to express their concerns and interests regarding SDGs the current situation in their hometowns. With this workshop we were aiming to create authentic experiential learning and bolster creativity through digital design which carried a powerful message.
During the workshop, the twenty participants had the chance to have their voices heard by the community and co-create seven principles for matters they hold dear at heart. Despite the differences in gender, ethnicity, and culture, all the participants were able to collaborate on common issues which concerned them as citizens. These young activists discussed innovation, poverty, education, and equality. By the end of workshop, they came up with few different mottos:
“Wake Up, The Earth’s Clock is Ticking”
“Good Health, Well-being and a Good Education are the Foundation to a Good Life”
“Change Starts with You! Reflect & Apply the SDGs to YOUR Everyday”
This workshop was organized as a precursor to the Digital Dispatch workshop during the DOKU.TECH Conference (June 8-9th, 2019). The main goal for the gathering is to discuss, reflect, connect and to co-create a dispatch with reflections on the 2019 theme DOKU.TECH – ‘Digitizing the Human, Humanizing the Digital’.
DOKU.TECH explores and challenges the social implications of technological innovations through connectivity, content, openness and security. The event gathers reputable speakers, observers, explorers and builders from around the world to talk about open knowledge, digital security, privacy, social entrepreneurship and business.
