Kosovo born British Artist, Tackling Poverty in Kosovo
Artist call to act to fight the poverty!
It is our ultimate fight! It is not about charity, but it is about justice.
Kosovars are angry and therefore looking for ways to fight for bringing a change and liberating themselves from being disadvantaged.
Today, I am very angry.
So, today I TAKE action to break down this problem, starting off with these black and white photographs of Kosovo’s most impoverished lives, stories of people’s realities that are easy for us to turn away from and do nothing.
But, I chose to expose these photos for what they are portraying.
It is a decision, DO VOTE!: Vote to end the Poverty!
As saying goes, “we can be the first generation to end the poverty.” So let us be THE ONE!
I believe that we all can make a difference and help create a positive change – especially when we’re tackling and addressing massive issues such as poverty.
I hope that this art installation and speech delivered tomorrow, on 20th of October 2017, at 18:00 in Termokiss, will encourage all of us to speak up and alleviate the suffering of our new and small place. It’s not so much about charity as it is about justice.
Coming together, we can make a meaningful and lasting difference. From 20th of October in the morning the society will be faced with the reality of tackling the issue of poverty, through art installation: “Vote to end the poverty!”
With love,
Alketa
